Research area & expertise:

The migration of female student-athletes to the United States on soccer scholarships. In particular, I have accumulated a database of 2,500 female student-athletes that have migrated from throughout the world to play soccer at colleges and universities in the United States.

As an employee of the Irish Football Association since 2002 I have gained extensive knowledge and experience in women’s football at a local, national and international level.

Current reasearch interests & projects:

The ‘Atlantic Drift’: the migration of Irish female soccer players to the United States on soccer scholarships. This study involves quantitative and qualitative methodologies and explores the migration of Irish female soccer players to the United States. As part of the study I have also compiled a database of ‘foreign’ players migrating to the United States on soccer scholarships.
